Massachusetts Maintained Record Low Levels Of Uninsured And Improved Access To Needed Health Care During Economic Downturn
The rate of uninsured, working-age adults in Massachusetts has remained at record low levels despite high unemployment and a severe economic downturn. Four years after the state began implementing its groundbreaking health care reform law, gains in residents' access to needed care have also been maintained, and racial and ethnic disparities in coverage have been eliminated. Furthermore, 67 percent of working-aged adults support health reform, which is virtually the same level of public support found shortly after the law was enacted.

2010 Access Grant Guidelines Will Be Available in July
Guidelines for the 2010 Connecting Consumers with Care, Strengthening the Voice for Access, and Innovation Fund for the Uninsured grant program areas will be available in July. Letters of inquiry from prospective grantees will be due in September; deadlines will be posted at BlueCrossFoundation.org in July.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Massachusetts Foundation Awards $1.12 Million To Organizations Providing Care To The Uninsured
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation has awarded $1.12 million in grants to 17 health care delivery organizations working to implement health care for the uninsured. The grants range from $50,000 to $75,000.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation Awards $2.22 Million To 56 Health Access Organizations
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation has awarded $2.22 million to 56 community health organizations around the state. Grants were given to organizations that assist residents in obtaining health care by helping them sign up for health insurance and find providers; advocate for better health care coverage; or improve the care for those who remain uninsured. Grants ranged from $20,000 to $75,000.
