Katherine serves as the director of the Massachusetts Medicaid Policy Institute (MMPI), a program of the Foundation that leads independent and nonpartisan research about MassHealth. In this role, she oversees the development of a strategic agenda for policy and research focused on MassHealth, and leads efforts to produce and disseminate nonpartisan information and analysis about the program.Prior to joining the Foundation, she was the Associate Director of Policy at Community Catalyst, a national non-profit advocacy organization working to build consumer leadership in the American health system. Katherine oversaw Community Catalyst’s Medicaid policy agenda, and led campaigns to expand and preserve Medicaid coverage at both the state and federal levels. She has also served as an adjunct professor at the Boston University School of Public Health, where she taught a course focusing on organizing for change in the health care system.Katherine holds a masters in economics from the University of British Columbia, and received advanced leadership training through the Massachusetts Institute for Community Health Leadership.
