Patricia (Pat) Washington serves as a director on the Board of Directors for Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD), the YW Boston, and the MassBay Community College Foundation. Pat retired in December 2013 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) after 38 years of service with the company. Prior to her retirement she was Vice President of the Corporate Audit and Risk Management Services Division (ARM) and the company’s Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO). During her tenure with BCBSMA she held numerous leadership positions in areas such as: Corporate Accounting, Financial Operations, Customer Billing & Collections, Account and Membership Enrollment Operations, Claim Operations, Customer Service, Training & Quality Assurance, Information Technology and Government Program Operations. In addition to her professional career, Pat served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the BCBSMA Employees’ state charted credit union (The Plan Credit Union). She actively participated in Company sponsored community service programs such as the Madison Park High School Blue Scholars Program; In-Roads of New England Intern Program; and the Private Industry Council’s Summer Internship program for Boston High School Students. She received Blue Cross Blue Shield’s First Annual Volunteer Service Award in recognition for her commitment to community service. Pat is a life member and former officer of the Boston and Vicinity Club of the NANBPW, Inc., recipient of the Boston YMCA Black Achiever Award and is a founding member of the MAAJECS Investment Club Partnership and serves as a financial advisor to a youth investment club, the Young Skitz, formed to educate youth, ages 9 through 17, on the value and importance of saving and investing at an early age.
