The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation Mourns the Loss of Senator Kennedy
AUGUST 27, 2009 —The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation mourns the passing of U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. Kennedy, a tireless champion for health care reform, improved countless lives with his advocacy for access to care. Here in Massachusetts, Kennedy was a critical partner with the many stakeholders in government, business, consumer advocacy, care delivery, philanthropy, and academia who contributed to the state’s 2006 health care reform law. His legacy will live in the future we are working to create — one in which every individual has access to quality care when and where it’s needed.
