Dr. Bruce Nash is the Chief Physician Executive and Senior Vice President of Health and Medical Management for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA).
Dr. Nash has held executive leadership positions for both health plans and hospitals during his career. Prior roles include serving as the chief medical officer of Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP) in Albany, NY, the president of North Adams Regional Hospital, the vice president of clinical affairs, Kaiser Permanente - Northeast, and an extensive tenure with Community Health Plan in Latham, New York.
He is a board certified family physician who practiced for more than 20 years in upstate New York. He earned a Master’s of Business Administration in health sector management from the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University, a medical degree from Albany Medical College, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed his residency in family practice at Duke University.
Dr. Nash currently serves on the Board of the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI), the National Council of Physician Executives for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, the Board of Strategic Advisors of the Excel Venture Management Fund, and the Strategic Advisory Council of McKesson Health Solutions.
